Acupuncture:

·         Acupuncture has been used for over 2000 years to treat a variety of diseases. It is safe and effective, especially for conditions such as pain, geriatric diseases, and exercise-related dis-eases. There are 361 acupuncture points located throughout the body. On human body, there are the energetic channels called maridians that connect all the points to each other. These points are stimulated by various means to produce a physiological effect in the body. All points have various functions throughout the body that can be used to treat different diseases. The methods are proven to be effective and no side effect. How does acupuncture work: Acupuncture may be defined as the stimulation of a specific point on the body, referred to as an “acupoint.” Physiological changes in response to acupuncture point stimulation is the basis of clinical treatment. Some of these changes include release of endogenous opioids, immune system stimulation, and blood pressure regulation. Stimulation of an acupoint causes activation of Aα and Aβ nerve fibers to conduct electrical signals through the spinothalamic tract to the hypothalamus, causing release of β-endorphins. Acupuncture also causes activation of the descending pain inhibitory pathway that activates the periaqueductal gray matter to release more β-endorphins, and the nucleus raphe magnus, which inhibits incoming pain information at the spinal cord level.

Cupping

·        Cupping is a Chinese medical modality that has been used thousands years. It is also used in Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America. There are more and more people in America found it helpful on treating certain deseases and for well-being. Cupping can serve many purposes, including to help with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation and well-being, and as a type of deep-tissue massage. In Spring Acupunctrue, Cupping could be included in the acupuncture treatment or performed as an therapy itself

Therapeutic Massage

·        Therapeutic massage helps to relieve pain, reduce stress. A therapist will apply gentle or strong pressure to the muscles and joints of the body to ease pain and tension or work on a specific problem. There are variety way of therapeutic massage: neuromuscular massage, acupupoint massage, tuina, deep tissue massage, etc. In Spring Acupuncture, we will apply right technique and methods to satisfy your need. for example, deep tissue massage is great at breaking down scar tissue and getting your blood circulating, which can give you a lot of relief from chronic pain. but it may not be what you need on a particular day. our therapist will apply the specific techniques and the right amount of pressure to address your need, and sometimes that’s a lighter touch.

Herbal Medicine

·        Herbal Medicine is to use herb as a medicine to treat diseases. herbal formulus (presctiptions) have been studied for many medical problems, including stroke, heart disease, mental disorders, and respiratory diseases (such as bronchitis and the common cold), and a national survey showed that about one in five Americans use them. Because many studies have been of poor quality, no firm conclusions can be made about their effectiveness. For more information about specific herbs, see NCCIH’s Herbs at a Glance Web page. You can find additional information on botanical (plant) dietary supplements on the Office of Dietary Supplements Web site.

Moxibustion

·        Moxibustion is a type of traditional Chinese medicine. It involves burning moxa, a cone or stick made of ground mugwort leaves, on or near your body’s meridians and acupuncture points. It is believed that the resulting heat helps stimulate these points and improves the flow of qi (energy) in your body. According to traditional Chinese medicine practices, this increased qi circulation can help with a range of health issues, from chronic pain to digestive troubles. Tai Chi

·        Tai chi combines certain postures, gentle movements, mental focus, breathing, and relaxation. Research findings suggest that practicing tai chi may improve balance and stability in older people and those with Parkinson’s disease, reduce pain from knee osteoarthritis, help people cope with fibromyalgia and back pain, and promote quality of life and improve mood in people with heart failure.
